Intensive Moscow's Attacks Disrupt Power In Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while local people in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and dealt with disruption to drinking water, per reports from municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, according to local officials.

Moscow has escalated attacks on power infrastructure over the past few days, while the country's government has demanded "substantial measures" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing restrictions," mentioned in a public message.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 missiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were striving to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles damaged electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the assaults on the city have been taken to hospital, per statements from municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the city experienced significant strikes throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child died and three other people were injured.

The strikes follow nights of aerial attacks in the region, parts of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The whole nation is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to detect.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the country's energy grid, with assaults already impacting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were preparing for more assaults.
