19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hardcourt
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden trophy for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- number one, has experienced a difficult season, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
His varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually improved in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought three-set triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This marks the player's first trophy since the Italian tournament and first on a hard surface since March of 2023.
The win also means the Russian has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one distinct events.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my both daughters together, so to get a title is really nice," stated world number 14 Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six finals, featuring in Halle previously this season.
His counter-punching strategy and recurring emotional displays on court had prompted some to wonder if his capacity to play at the top level was finished.
Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, attempting to advance forward and play positively, reinforced by an improved serve.
He came back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, winning four of the concluding five points to go ahead.
Both players swapped service breaks in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his first professional victory, seized the initiative to push for a third set.
The opponent defended four early break points in a competitive deciding set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.
Fittingly, Medvedev earned the win with a point at the net area, with Moutet unable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
